Iran
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent claims that there are Iranian defections on all levels within Iran’s leadership. Bessent told Fox News that this is due to the US targeting Iranian officials’ financial assets. Iran announced that 45 mercenaries and separatists were arrested and that several were planning an attack.
There have been no public announcements of defections within Iran, but the opposition Lion and Sun flag has been hoisted at the Iranian Embassy in Copenhagen, Denmark. According to reports, two officials have resigned and are seeking asylum.
Several IRGC commanders have been killed in recent US-Israeli strikes.

It is believed that it will take three to five years to fully repair the damage to Qatar’s LNG production. Iran has wiped out 17% of Qatar’s LNG production, resulting in an estimated $20 billion lost of annual revenue.
United Kingdom
Two suspected Iranian spies were arrested while trying to gain access to the Falstaff nuclear submarine base in Scotland. Two Iranian men were arrested and now charged under the National Security Act after an investigation into alleged reconnaissance of Jewish targets on behalf of Iran.
Czechia
Czech police are investigating a fire caused by arson at an arms factory owned by Czech arms maker LPP Holding, but has connections with the Israeli defence company Elbit Systems. An anti-Israeli underground group, called the Earthquake Faction. The Earthquake Faction claimed that they started the fire at a “production centre for Israeli weapons”, due to the operator’s “role in the Israeli genocide in Gaza”. Canada
Canada is streamlining the acquisition of new army rifles for the Canadian army. Colt Canada will be manufacturing 30,000 made-in-Canada assault rifles in three years, with an option for the government to order an additional 35,000. This comes after it was also announced that Canada is spending $1.4 billion to improve domestic ammunition production capacity.
Afghanistan-Pakistan
The Taliban’s interior minister, Sirajuddin Haqqani, said that the Taliban are not weak but do not want the conflict with Pakistan to escalate. Pakistan is denying Taliban claims that it violated the Eid ceasefire.
France
France seized a false-flagged oil tanker sailing from Russia to the Mediterranean. The Mozambican-flagged Deyna, which sailed from Murmansk in northwestern Russia, was inspected over the regularity of its flag.
