Japan

Japan will deploy surface-to-air missiles on the island of Yonaguni, which is 100km from Taiwan and visible from the island on a clear day. The deployment of these missiles is expected in March 2031. It was first announced in 2022, but there has never been a clear delivery date until now. It is believed that Japan will deploy the Type 03 Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missile (Chu-SAM/SAM-4). This also comes as Sino-Japanese relations are at a low. China banned the export of critical minerals to Japan this week.
