Ukraine
The United Kingdom supplied Ukraine with additional Storm Shadow missiles for deep strikes into Russia. The undisclosed number of missiles is to bolster Ukraine’s supply before winter. Storm Shadow missiles can strike targets ranging from 250 to 560 kilometres (155–350 miles).
North Korea
Satellite images show the construction of a new bridge linking Russia and North Korea. This is the first road bridge connecting the two countries and is being constructed near an existing railway bridge. It is estimated that the bridge will open in the first quarter of 2026.
South Korea
US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth vowed interagency support with the construction of nuclear-powered submarines built in the US for the South Korean Navy.
Nigeria
President Trump threatened military action in Nigeria as he also claimed that there was a Christian genocide taking place in the country. Boko Haram and al-Qaeda linked groups are attacking all people of Nigeria and not just Christians.
Pakistan
During the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari stated that India’s violations of the Indus Water Treaty would not succeed and warned against the weaponization of water.
United States
Former U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has passed away at the age of 84. Cheney was seen as a key architect of the War on Terror. He later criticized the direction the Republican Party was taking and criticized Donald Trump.
Sudan
A drone strike hit a funeral in Sudan, and at least 40 people have been killed outside the army-held city of el-Obeid in North Kordofan state. Fighting has intensified in this oil-rich region as the RSF is attempting to capture el-Obeid, which connects Khartoum to the western region of Darfur.
