Niger sent a fuel convoy to Mali to ease the fuel blockade that jihadists have imposed. It took 82 petrol tankers three weeks to arrive in the capital. Russia’s Africa Corps is reportedly attempting to provide an escort for fuel tankers from Mali’s leading suppliers, Senegal and the Ivory Coast. Russia has pledged to supply Mali with 160,000 to 200,000 metric tonnes of petroleum and agricultural products.
