Pakistan
The Balochistan Liberation Front conducted a coordinated attack in the Balochistan province over the weekend. 145 terrorists were killed in the 40-hour-long battle, with 31 civilians and 17 security personnel killed.
Mali
At least 15 people were killed when JNIM attacked a fuel convoy in Mali along the Senegalese border. JNIM imposed a fuel blockade on the capital, Bamako, in September. It has only recently eased.
Niger-Islamic State
On Friday, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for an attack on an air force base adjacent to Diori Hamani International Airport in Niger’s capital that wounded four soldiers and damaged an aircraft. State television reported that Niger’s forces responded quickly to the assault, killing 20 of the attackers and arresting 11 others.
Canada
RCAF commander, Lt.-Gen. Jamie Speiser-Blanchet, will be in Texas for an F-35 ceremony. Speiser-Blanchet will be signing the fuselage bulkhead to be installed on the first Canadian F-35. Canada is slated to purchase at least 16 F-35s, but questions remain about whether it will buy the 88 outlined in previous government procurement plans.
Israel-Gaza
On Saturday, Israeli jets launched a wave of airstrikes against the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military confirmed that a number of strikes were carried out in response to what it said was a Hamas violation of the agreement on Friday. The IDF said it had, together with the Israel Security Agency (ISA), struck targets in various locations including “four commanders and additional terrorists” as well as a weapons storage facility, a weapons manufacturing site and “two launch sites belonging to Hamas in the central Gaza Strip”.
