Russia-India

India and Russia signed two agreements that will increase the mobility of skilled and semi-skilled workers to Russia. It is believed that Russia requires approximately 5 million professional and semi-skilled workers. 

Canada

L3Harris states that it can service Canadian and American F-35s in Quebec by 2028-2029. This comes as the Canadian government considers its options, although it has already purchased 16 F-35As but not yet received them. 

Canadian Defence Minister David McGinty states that Canada is on track to meet its 2% GDP defence spending commitment. A politically charged commitment to meet that target by the spring has meant that the Canadian Coast Guard and elements of Transportation Canada, have been taken over by the Canadian Armed Forces.

Türkiye

Turkish authorities arrested 233 suspects across the country who are linked to ISIS. The suspects have alleged ties to ISIS or have allegedly been financing the organization. 

Afghanistan-Pakistan

Border clashes erupted once again between the Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani military over the weekend. Both sides blame each other for starting the firefight, which lasted for four hours. 

Thailand-Cambodia

Thailand launched airstrikes on positions in Cambodia. Thousands are fleeing the border area on both sides. It is unclear what started it, but the Thai military says it responded to Cambodian fire. This is a developing story.

Mali

Details have emerged that the UAE paid USD 20 million to Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM) for the release of an Emirati prince kidnapped by al Qaeda’s West African affiliate. This deal also included the release of jailed fighters in the country. Currently, the group is besieging the capital and attempting to impose a blockade on fuel supplies.
