US-Iran
Presidents Trump and Pezeshkian digitally signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Trump signed it during a candlelit dinner at the Palace of Versailles.
President Trump is calling critics of the deal “fools”. Iran is claiming the deal as a victory and saying that this was a US failure. Trump still insists that bombing can continue if Iran does not live up to its part of the deal.
United States
President Trump invoked the Defense Production Act of 1950 to increase production of munitions after they were depleted during the war with Iran. There have been concerns with the level of munitions, and a report from the Centre for Strategic and Intelligence Studies claimed that it would take three to five years to replace those munitions and return to a level before the Ukraine War.

Ukraine-Russia War
Ukraine launched its largest drone attack on the Moscow region. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed that more than 200 drones were intercepted. Several drones hit the Gazprom Neft-operated refinery located about 15 kilometres (9.3 miles) southeast of central Moscow. Zelensky quipped that “if Ukraine burns, so will Moscow.”
South Korea
South Korea announced that it will shrink the security buffer zone, known as the Civilian Control Line, near the border. The Civilian Control Line was established to ensure military operations near the border and restrict civilian movement. It will be reduced from 10 kilometers to an average of 6. South Koreans who live or farm in this area need government approval and face economic disadvantages. Reducing the buffer zone will ease this.
Niger
Nigerien security forces battled gunmen at the country’s main international airport. The airport hosts Niger’s air force and the Niger-Burkina Faso-Mali joint military force, which is tasked to combat jihadist groups. No group has claimed responsibility.
Israel
The Israeli government announced plans to expand a Jewish school for settlers living in the center of the Palestinian city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The plan is to construct a 1,000-square-metre school in this historic area of the city. Palestinians state that this violates the 1997 Hebron agreement, under which construction has generally required approval from the Palestinian municipality.
